Show up earlier, much better than staying after.

I'm in.

I stayed after and had the trails to myself. The wind was bad but you can't control that.

Why do you think earlier is better Joe?

I think the fever builds up beforehand, it to me is tangible the way new arrivers are excited. Then it blows its load friday and everyones spent and goes home. So yeah, koh is very much like sex.

Not to mention, you could be out wheeling with your buds taking a piss break, and have this happen:

To say the **** was bad was a understatement. Im pretty sure the first tent company went bankrupt from tent damage. Heres the day after koh

I'll be there early once again, rec wheeling a rig that isnt even a roller yet! Maybee this could inspire boxboy to finish his rig thats 80% mocked up.

That is our camp you see at 13 seconds. The tents that were closed up survived a bit better. We zip tied ours closed and for the most part it suvived.

I felt bad for the tent guy. He had a full crew out there to take down the tents but it was impossible so all he could do is watch his money blow away. Hope he had insurance. I wonder what tents will cost this year. :eeek:

I'm wanting to go again. Anyone capable of towing down 2 rigs? I'd help out with fuel costs of course.

I am very strongly considering going to KOH this year. In fact I'd say I'm 90% in. Being as I'll likely be helping my friends with their "cars" leading up to the race I am also looking at either showing up way early or staying late to hit the trails. I want to run everything this year and get as much wheel time as possible.

I tend to side with Bunk on getting there early as opposed to staying late. One reason is the support on the lakebed is great. The 4wheelparts trucks are coming in every day so parts you may have broken screwing around are more likely to be obtainable before he race. After the race you are really on your own. I liked watching everything grow during the week as well.

Our group is planning to be there again. Not sure who, how many, or what rigs but we'll be there. This will make 4 years straight for me. Leaving the 31st be home the 10th.

I am planning on flying in to the hammers. I can't get there till Thursday Morning. Is being a spectator and showing up on Thursday going to be as worth it as I think it's going to be?
